Some of my favorite photos are those from the 50′s with children (and adults) in animal masks. There is just something a little off in the cuteness. Found some animal masks lately and started photographing people in normal situations but with the masks on. It’s bizarre how the slightest tilt of the head can yield more emotion from a plastic mask. Also has me thinking about Ralph Eugene Meatyard’s photos and the extremely creepy yet beautiful photos he made of masked friends and family. Good stuff!
